On such steep terrain, why do I choose the slippery path?

My road is set ahead, yet where I go leads to God’s wrath.

If only I’d learn the straight, level and paved is my road.

But how often I go, guided by where Hell’s storm once glowed.

My legs become weak and my feet fail to keep on track,

And the road I went always will put me on my back.

God’s wrath or His love, a selection which seems so easy.

Then why isn’t it?  Why do I take the one most beastly?

Open my eyes O Lord, and direct me to the place planned by you.

Defeat Satan’s efforts, and bring me up to Your City, Your Jewel.
