SOULS OF FACES

Faces, faces, faces

Music echoing off the corridor

Footsteps across the marble stairs

And the muttering voices barely distinguishable

I sit in a strange place

Observing every strange face

The sun travels through the glass

Then leaves like the end of a class

Shadows bounce and exhilarate my thought

And I ponder on what life I've sought

Faces, faces, faces; They all pass by; Each seeking a life, A soul of places.

Who will inspire, Who will deliver, These souls of faces?

Where is the path we're all seeking"  But my life is always weakening!

We hurry up or slow down our pace, but end short of winning the race.

How can all these faces be wrong? Is each one writing his own sad song?

Faces, faces, faces; They all pass by; Each seeking a life, A soul of places.

Who will inspire, Who will deliver, These souls of faces?

Up ahead, on a hill it stands, the symbol of what flows across the lands.

The cross used to shed Christís blood. Why do we trample it into the mud?

Only a few seek out its path. Are the rest fallen before Godís wrath?

Faces, faces, faces; They all pass by; Each seeking a life, A soul of places.

Who will inspire, Who will deliver, These souls of faces?

In Godís plan thereís a place for us; through dying, built by His Son, Jesus.

Conditioned in life to do our will, we must open our hearts for Him to fill.

Then the souls of all these faces, will find Godís way to their perfect places.

Faces, faces, faces; They all pass by; Each seeking a life, A soul of places.

Who will inspire, Who will deliver, These souls of faces?
