G O I N G T O G L O R Y

I drift on the winds that blow the sand,

“Where am I going, what will I do?”

And on the roads that never end,

“Where am I going, what will I do?”

To the bleak I seem weak, and to the destitute I am viewed as lost,

“Where is he going and what will he do?”

Over and over I toss about,

“Why can’t I just toss in my lot?”

Over and over throughout the night,

“It just don’t seem right; it just ain’t right!”

With each morning comes the burning,

More sand, more wind, more of the same question,

“Where am I going, what will I do?”

Desolation has turned her back on me,

Destruction has no glory in me,

The lowly can’t honor me, and Abomination says he hates me,

“Where is he going, what will he do?”

Over and over I toss about,

“Why can’t I just toss in my lot?”

Over and over throughout the night,

“It just don’t seem right, it just ain’t right!”

Then one day on the road I find, a choice of a different kind.

There before me a rock I see, dividing the path in front of me.

And from this rock a cross is cropped and bread of life is brought.

I didn’t linger, and I didn’t wait, I feasted and believed on the bread I ate.

The cross was the death of my sin,

For God’s Son Jesus died, was buried, then rose again.

And the bread is His True Word,

For it was for my salvation Jesus did all this I heard.

So I took the path which parted me here,

A gateway to God’s love so merciful, plentiful, and dear.

As the wind blew, I knew, my life was new,

And where I was going Jesus would guide me through.

“Where am I going?  I’m going to glory!”

“And what will I do? Tell Jesus’ story to other chosen few!”

Yes, at the rock I found my way,

And now direction fills my day.

No more wondering and no more wandering,

Jesus takes away all that kind of pondering.

This is what I’ll do, tell others of Jesus’ truth.

That’s my life, that’s my story, I’m just going to tell of Jesus’ glory.

I’m going to glory, telling Jesus’ story.

That’s enough for me, He’s done it all for me,

And I’m going to glory telling His story, I’m going to glory telling Jesus’ story.
